Porsche 956 Winner Le Mans 1982

One of the greats from Le Mans during the Group C Era was the Porsche 956. The first iteration of the 956 appeared in 1982, featuring an aluminum monocoque chassis. It was also a test bed for Porsche's Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) dual clutch transmission in a racing application.

1982 at Le Mans was a great race for Porsche, where the three 956's numbered 1, 2, and 3, took places on the podium by their car number. Porsche dominated first through fifth position in the final results with two privateer teams just below the podium.
